The days leading up to a major competition are among the most physiologically demanding for any athlete. Tapering training loads, travel stress, sleep disruption and pre-competition anxiety can deplete key nutrients and compromise the immune function that athletes have carefully built through months of training.
Pre-competition IV drip therapy has become increasingly popular among professional winter sports athletes, and for good reason. A carefully designed pre-competition infusion can optimize nutritional status, support immune function, improve sleep quality and ensure peak energy availability on race day.
A typical pre-competition protocol administered 24 to 48 hours before competition includes: B-vitamin complex to optimize ATP production pathways; magnesium glycinate for muscle relaxation and stress modulation; vitamin D3 if blood levels are suboptimal; a modest dose of vitamin C (2-5g) for immune support without the excessive antioxidant effect that could blunt training adaptations; and saline hydration to ensure optimal plasma volume for cardiovascular performance.
Critical note: all substances used in our pre-competition protocols are verified against the current WADA prohibited list. IV infusions of volumes exceeding 100mL within 12 hours of competition are prohibited by WADA except for documented medical necessity. Our protocols are designed with these regulations in mind, and we work transparently with athletes and their medical teams to ensure full anti-doping compliance.
